Transliteration of the name[edit]

The name of this city (resp. the region) should be changed to Haskovo. It is written and pronounced in Bulgarian that way. Using "kh" for translitarating cyrillic letter "x" is common for Russian names and I think coming from the fact that "h" is not pronounced in French, which was the most influencial international language in previous centuries. Hence, it started to be used also for Bulgarian names, natively written in cyrillic. However, this is never used in contemporary Bulgaria and also contradicts to the officially accepted transliteration rules (used for example in IDs, passports etc.) Yuzz
